After the events of Ascaria, I was wandering around the garden, Thinking of that unnatural episode I experienced. Something about it made me ponder on the idea itself, however that entity frightened me, the way it spoked, and laughed too. It was mocking us and the sense of it. Does that thing know us?
These questions are roaming around my thoughts just waiting to be answered or asked.
I left the garden, went back inside it was calm and quiet and they talked to me that they are out, Looking for more supplies, so I just told them that I’ll just stay here for a while, to keep an eye on Nyla, a sweet sombre of music can be heard in one of the rooms, it’s been a while that I haven’t heard any music, as it turns out the door that was slightly opened that’s where the sound was.
It was Nyla just sitting and listening to a turntable music device just placed on the top of the table, then she slightly turned to her right side.
“Oh Hey!” She stood up looking all better. She gave a slight smile to me, but she almost fell and I walked forward to help her but she extended her hand telling me to stop, then she stared back at me with a smile, she let out a soft chuckle.
“How are you feeling?” She brushed her hair and looked back at me, “Well I feel like crap, but I’m recovering well, thanks…” It’s been a couple of days that she’s kept in here for her recovery, thanks to the town’s doctor she was kind to help alongside Phoenix.
Then I helped her sit back in the chair, while the music was playing. Just the pure instrumental of the song we're listening to we sat in silence, but then I glanced at her, she was wearing
some dark grey long shirt. She looks so beautiful but that scar on her right side of the eye caught my attention. I was about to say something, but she started.
“Thanks, for saving my life by the way…” she looked at me trying to remember my name “Atomic Blaze.” I said and she looked a little silly about it then she laughed a little “Right I see, We talked a little a couple of days ago.”
Then she flinches from the pain then lifts her shirt to see her wound, but it's wrapped in bandages “I’m okay.” she said I nodded and just looked at her then she looked back at me “Can we stop with the staring game?” I quickly turned to her. “Right, sorry, I completely got lost a bit there.”
I stared back at her while she was wondering why I Just looked at her with a blank look “Umm Yeah… you’re welcome I didn’t want anyone dying in my hands.” When I said that to her she turned to look out the window.
It felt awkward at first but I have to do something to talk to her further on, but I think Oh! I think I got a brilliant idea “Say? There is a bar in this town, hmmm I bet you want to drink or something?” She shot up in all excitement and then she nodded, then I helped her off the chair slowly.
“Can you walk?” While my hands were ready to catch her fall, then she shook her head telling me no.
“I can do it.” She said I let her use me as support, she raised one eyebrow looking a little funny, she accepted my offer. As we left the room she quickly turned as I followed her direction.
“Relax, your weapons are safe, believe me.” A key to this room was given to me by Phoenix, once they went out to do something.
Once we’re down the hall she looks at this place in amazement then I started with basic questions. “So Where did you come from, by the way?” while her gaze is focusing on the interior of this place. I must say Phoenix did a great job in making this place feel so safe for us.
Furniture that was from the past is brand new again but with class alongside with gothic style just like the sanitarium days ago .
“This place is very odd and beautiful I must say, Hmm I was wandering around until I heard some strange sounds further in my direction.” we kept on walking down the hall
“Then I saw you three fighting, whatever that is, really messed me up.” which is true she got stabbed by that creature that made me fear for the first time, that event we fought for the first time saving this place was a first trial I would say.
“So you just wondered… All alone?” while holding her, halfway to the front door she nodded at me.
A lone wanderer I see… Very mysterious. We left our new place. The New look to this place is just filled with hope rather than outside the walls filled with Darkness and horror.
Unlike here things are back in order, like what I wanted but there is more we could establish.
People are just walking around and running around and some are working doing their duties occupying their minds while doing something, while we stroll down the streets.
As we were walking we heard some gun fire to our right which I didn’t know they set up a shooting range here for the people to use guns luckily I found those so people can defend themselves.
We stopped and she got curious about it “Can I see the shooting range?” She asked, then I nodded even though I haven’t seen this part yet, and we approached the man In charge “Ah! Blaze good to see you, Thank you for saving this place.”
I shook hands with the instructor. He looked clean but less dirty with a smug look to but he wasn’t creeped out by my appearance so he just kept quiet about it.
“No problem, not at all, we just stopped by because she wants to see what’s going on here, this is new?”
I Asked while looking at the people shooting at the targets. “Well… that fellow, hmm Phoenix’s the one who made this alongside Dave and that redhead gal.” I nodded to his response, they did a very good job here which caught me by surprise.
Some of them are good, but some are missing a lot, but can’t blame them for it. While holding Nyla she was a little disappointed by the way they held the weapon.
But there are some holding the gun properly which I can guess they know how to handle themselves.
Out of nowhere A loud bang went off, then someone yelled in pain, and the rest just stopped shooting and put their guns down on the table and went to help this person out, it turns out it’s a kid.
We just stood there and watched the kid yell in pain. I could help him but I couldn’t just let her go, the instructor excuse himself to help the kid.
Then She just let go of me and started walking towards the range
She leaned behind the barrier catching her breath, then she lifted the gun and she checked the pistol, then she pulled her hair back and pulled out a hair tie from her pocket.
I walked up behind her a few inches away so I can get a view of what she’s doing, while the sun is going down I just focus on her.
Instead of helping the young man, while standing they passed by behind me I changed my mind so I can help out, but one of them extend their hand saying no we can handle it ourselves out of good will gesture, I just nodded instead, so they left I turned back to see Nyla holding the gun staring at the targets.
She quickly fired the gun at the targets emptying the magazine at five wooden figures on the fields.
I was stunned by the fact that she’s very good at it then she put the piece down and turned around looking at me with a smirk and looking proud of it.
“Yep Still got it.” As she said then Extending her hand towards me to hold on too, “That was very impressive Nyla, didn’t miss A single shot, Where did you learn how to shoot?”
While holding her and walking away from the shooting range we walked back, I was curious where the kid was but as we’re walking down we stopped for a minute, saw the kid being patched up by a woman who’s cleaning the injury and she’s doing her best which she did. Good thing she’s a nurse in this place then she asked Nyla “Hey Are you feeling okay now?” I looked at her and she nodded to the woman who patched her up days ago.
We left the scene, so we can proceed to a place where she can drink. To my amazement the place I wanted to establish a bar was fully fixed up.
Then a passing folk said “Vicky and The handsome fella in white, fixed that building.” said by An elderly woman carrying a basket of fruits.
We’re standing here and I can feel her gaze looking at me, “Blaze? Are you okay?” While staring in front of this building, it’s what I wanted to look like, “I’m okay sorry I Didn't answer you, but Welcome to the Whispering Queen.” I let out a little laugh. A normal looking establishment with a nice exterior from the past I used to remember back then, then I opened the doors and looked inside.
It was clean as hell. It's a bit dark here but not too dark it's fine and comfortable the dim lights set the mood to this place.
This is an awesome place where everyone can hang out and eat and drink. I sat Her down on one of the Bar stools, while I looked around. I went to the back to check if it was safe, then I went to the storage room. It turns out there’s lots of supplies of food and rum and other things stored. I took a bottle of rum and glass and bread and ham in a plate in my hand.
I went back to see Nyla still sitting on the bar stool resting her head on the countertop. I walked towards her on the other side of the counter.
I placed the food gently with the bottle of rum and glass in front of her.
She jerked up and looked down in front of her.
She looked amazed and started eating fast. I stood there in Awe looking at her. I crossed my arms “Okay try to take it easy there’s plenty of food here if you want.” I said while she was drinking Rum and putting down the empty glass and smiling back at me “This is the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten in my life.” Sounding joy from her made me scoff and giggled a bit. I left her there and brought back some more food for her.
I sat down beside her and we started talking a bit, then she managed to finish a couple of bread and Ham and half of the bottle of rum. A few moments later we sat there in peace, “So you told me you were wondering alone right? But where did you get those guns and how long have you been surviving out there?”
She finished drinking her glass then dragged her hair behind and looked at me and scoffed “Honestly… I cannot lie to you since I have not met anybody normal besides you, I used to be with my grandfather he’s an expert at hunting and he brought me up and teached me how to shoot and hunt and when the world went to shit that's when things got worse and hard for me and my grandfather.”
She looked at the empty glass as she started frowning, “What’s the matter?” I asked.
She shook her head and looked at me and nodded and smiled back at me “Yeah I’m good.” I can tell she was holding back the pain but I let it go. Maybe there’ll be a better time for that some day but not now.
“It’s really nice to talk to someone for once you have no Idea how lonely it can be being out there surviving the horrors and creatures that lurk in the dark and hiding for the rest of your life, every single day.” She raised her voice sounding annoyed but she calmed down while I sat there just listening to her.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to do that.” she frowned and I put my hand on her shoulder “Hey it’s okay now you’re safe here with us.” She smiled. I'm trying to figure out some words to say but the way she was looking at me was odd. There was something but I have no idea. I’m guessing she’s drunk and I quickly went back and she fell asleep so I caught her and she almost fell. That was a close one.
I grabbed her and carried on my arms sleeping. I left the The whispering queen with Nyla in my hands. It's night time now.
I walked back to our home. Everyone is still walking around and some are just playing some card game and some are guarding the gates and it's pretty quiet here. But I haven’t seen my friends yet, including Phoenix. I continued walking back home.
As I was carrying her in my arms she was asleep immediately I looked at her how peaceful she looked. “I got you Nyla.” With a heartfelt voice I said.
The mansion was empty, so I switched on the lights. I walked back to her room, unlocked it and took off her shoes and placed her on the bed.
She is sleeping well but I checked her wound and it's looking better. Thanks to that woman I hope that kid is alright. I just sat here waiting and resting while keeping guard.
I can hear voices chattering down the hall, they’re back. I can hear them walking. I stood up before I walked out the room. I turn my head to look back at her “Goodnight Nyla.” While she’s sleeping.
Leaving the door slightly Open, I saw my friends talking and they all looked like shit including Phoenix, his perfect white suit looking all dirty and damaged.
Vicky Saw me and ran towards me and hugged me “Oh hey Vicky, good to see you.” she smiled and I pulled a piece of flesh.
I showed it to her in front of her face and she just laughed at it, I threw it on the plant, “Where did you guys go?” I asked Vicky and she shrugged “we were looking for some rations and it turns out there is, we gave it to the people who need it, but we got attacked by some monsters only a few of them but they were hard to kill and Phoenix got his ass kicked hard but he manage to take them out and their nest too.”
While she’s telling me what happened Dave, Roxy, Cliff they’re just casually talking but damn they all look like crap and my thoughts faze like some kind of slow motion, what caught my Eye was Phoenix he looks sad I noticed recently. I don’t know what’s going on with him.
I’m back to reality “Did you hear me Red?” I looked back at her and I nodded while I didn’t listen. I was just focused on Phoenix for a second then he went to his study room. “Yeah I hear you Victoria.”
She frowned a bit but I hugged her even though she looked like a mess. “Also How’s the stranger doing by the way?” She Asked me. I'm feeling like I want to lie but I want to tell the truth. But it’s hard “She’s good, I kept her in company, that's all nothing else.” she nodded believing every word I said, she left me standing there. Not saying a single word to me right there so she decided to go to our room instead.
I followed her to the room, opened the door, closed it and looked at the floor seeing her clothes laying there. I sat down on the sofa just thinking of what happened in Asteria and Nyla. She's something but I don’t want to think about it too much.
She came out of the bathroom wearing a shirt and underwear and smiling at me with her sharp fangs. She’s beautiful then she took a sip of a red liquid in a glass.
She’s standing at the window looking at the night sky, I walked behind her then I just hugged and squeezed her tightly and she giggled “Our venture outside was tiring and fun at the same time but it sucks that you weren’t with us Red.” Hearing that sounds like she missed me but why me I always ask this questions I should be worrying the situation and the people around me more, I have no fucking Idea what I’m thinking now I let go of her instead.
She looked worried, “Red what’s going on with you, you're acting weird?” I buried my hands on my face while she put her hands around me trying to comfort me.
I can feel her breathing softly “Shh.. it’s okay, I’m here my dear.” Her voice is special. My fears go away slowly, “I sense that you’re terrified, you’re feeling disturbed.” I tilt my head down and just think.
Trying to calm me down. “I told you red we’ll beat this together I believe that we can no matter what the sacrifice we’ll make.” Those words dig through my thoughts like a nail deep down.
She’s right I have to accept that, we have to accept that. “To the new world.” I said then she looked at me “To the new world Red.” she repeated and smirked and kissed me on the cheek.
I still won’t forget her story back up on that little edge. And that necklace on her still looks beautiful. As I was about to stand up I wanted to clear my mind but… my thoughts were interrupted by her hand grabbing it tightly. She's quite strong.
She placed her gaze back to me “Please don’t leave Red stay here.” she started tearing up it felt like I hurt her right there. But I had to stay with her because she has interest towards me and I really like her.
She gently caressed my cheek her eyes looking at mine are special even though they’re red she’s absolutely beautiful she grabbed my hand and put it in between her breast to feel her heart and then letting go, she took off her shirt and I’m staring at her pale naked body I’m in awe and shocked she has a lot of scars and she took off my shirt even though I may look like this.
We both felt something and She placed me on bed and we both felt something special, for the first time and we just met a few days ago and here we’re in bed together, we made sure to keep each other company for the whole night.
